Custom Sizing

While Shibui sizes are designed specifically to fit women as they age and their bodies change, many women are “one size on top, another on the bottom.” We know. That’s why we provide Shibui Custom Service. You provide your measurements—or let us measure you at a trunk show—and we will craft your dress to fit your body.

Shibui Closet

Shibui Closet is a provided as a convenience to all customers. Your Shibui Closet contains a detailed history of all Shibui dress purchases as well as personal measurements if custom sizing is involved. Please call or email us to request your Shibui closet information.

Shipping

Dresses are shipped singly as they are completed. In most cases, they are shipped within three to four weeks of order. For US clients, shipping is by U.S. Postal Service using two-day Priority Mail at a shipping and handling rate of Price: $15.00. If your dress needs to be shipped to an international address, please contact us at 617.877.1613 for specific shipping rates.

Fabric Swatches

Swatches are available for most of the recommended fabrics and can be ordered by phone for a Price: $2.00 fee payable by credit card. To request a swatch, please visit our Swatch Page and call us at 617.877.1613. Swatches are shipped by US Postal Service first-class mail. Although we make every effort to update our information regularly, we cannot guarantee that a fabric will still be available before you receive your swatches.

Returns and Alterations

Shibui Designs is committed to your satisfaction.

For standard Shibui sizes we will reimburse you $50.00 for a one-time alteration at a seamstress or tailor of your choice. We will also accept returns of unworn, unwashed, unaltered dresses for a prompt and full refund, excluding shipping charges, if dresses are returned within seven (7) days.

For custom-sized dresses, we will reimburse you $50.00 for a one time alteration at a seamstress or tailor of your choice. We regret that custom designs cannot be returned for a refund.

Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. We do not share your information with anyone. We ask for your phone number, mailing address and email address in case there is a problem with your order and for shipping delivery only. We maintain Shibui Closet your convenience in placing future orders. We will not call you or give out your information for any other purpose.

Trunk shows

The best way to see and select from Shibui’s dress styles and fabrics is to attend a trunk show. If you would to be notified automatically of upcoming trunk shows, we invite you to join our mailing list.
